Background:
Dr David K Bisset worked at the Australian National University for a few months in 1994, helping to commission and test the first SG3 'Big Dish' collector, designed and built by the group under Prof Steve Kaneff. Dr Bisset returned to his work on large computational simulations in several fields, but always felt that there could be a better way for CST than dish systems or fields of heliostats. Since retiring he has pursued that goal, with results described on these pages.
Journal and conference publications are linked above, and the "Calculations+Code" pages are in effect appendices to the papers. Arguments in favour (mostly) of PWF collectors are presented in the Discussion (above) along with some recent results.
